Supporting Indigenous student success
In 2024, IG partnered with Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech), Manitoba's largest institute of applied learning and research, to launch the IG Empower Your Tomorrow program.
Designed to support Indigenous students’ success, the program provides academic, personal and professional supports to up to 300 Indigenous students each year across the School of Business, Information Technology, Creative Arts and the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
A key feature of the program is the IG Empower Coach, who helps students navigate their educational journey while connecting them with career coaching, mentorship opportunities and wellness resources. The partnership was created with a shared goal: to reduce barriers to success by providing both financial support and access to meaningful career development opportunities.
Investing in tomorrow's leaders
Building on this commitment, IG and RRC Polytech announced the first recipients of the IG Empower Your Tomorrow Indigenous Scholarship in May 2025.
Ten students were selected to receive a comprehensive package of support designed to help them succeed during their studies and beyond. Each recipient received financial support, professional development opportunities, wellness and mental health resources, childcare navigation support and a paid internship at IG’s Winnipeg headquarters.

IG and RRC Polytech will soon be welcoming their second cohort of scholarship recipients, continuing to invest in Indigenous students as they pursue their educational and career aspirations.
